SENIOR ARMY INSTRUCTOR: CW3 KEITH MURPHY
- CW3 Keith T. Murphy is a native of Vero Beach, Florida and entered the US Marine Corps on 01 November 1982. He completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. While in the US Marines, CW3 Murphy served as a Military Policeman and as a Criminal Investigator in several locations in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
- In July 1992, CW3 Murphy was selected for the Army Warrant Officer Flight Training program. Upon completion of flight school, CW3 Murphy served as a UH-1 Huey and a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) in the United States and in Europe. His tours of duty include four deployments to the Balkans in support of the United Nations, NATO-Operation Allied Force (Kosovo Air War) and subsequent KFOR Peace Keeping Missions. Prior to his retirement, CW3 Murphy deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
CW3 Murphy's military and civilian educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, TX, and numerous military schools to include Rotary Wing Flight School, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, US Army Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents Course, and the Army Safety Managers Course. CW3 Murphy is also a Senior Army Aviator.
He has been teaching for 20 years and continues to teach at Warren Central High School.
ARMY INSTRUCTOR: 1SG JOHN HURLEY
- 1SG John Hurley is a native of Bladenboro, North Carolina. He entered active duty on October 1, 1975 as a Combat Engineer. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
- First Sergeant Hurley has completed tours of duty at Fort Hood, Texas; Heilbronn, Germany; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Bindlach, Germany; and Fort Irwin, California. In addition, he completed a deployment to Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.
During his 22 years of active duty, 1SG Hurley attended various military schools including the Engineer Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, the Engineer Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, the Instructor Training Course, and Drill Sergeant School. He holds an Associates degree from Central Texas College.
1SG Hurley's awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with silver oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal (seventh award), and the Drill Sergeant Badge. The Army Engineer Association awarded 1SG Hurley with the Bronze deFleury Medal. As an educator, 1SG Hurley was named Teacher of The Year in 2014.
1SG Hurley is married and he and his wife have two daughters. They made their home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He has been teaching for 24 years and continues to teach at Warren Central High School.
